Canary in a coal mine
[edit]Isn't the death of canaries used in coal mines to indicate cave ins? I'm not quite sure, but would this be relevant to be added to the article? --BiT (talk) 15:37, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- Canaries are used in coal mines to indicate the presence of poisonous gases. Since their motabalism is so much greater than Humans, they die quickly indicating the presence of natural gas, carbon monoxcide, or methane. (text added by IP User:65.126.184.253 (talk) (01:07 17 Sept 2009 (UTC))
- I added a canary in a coal mine and it was reverted. Is that not allowed? What if I put https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/canary_in_a_coal_mine instead? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 21:50, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
- Bring a WP:RS, not WP:USERG and stop adding unsourced material! Toddst1 (talk) 23:59, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
